Early life
Zoe was the granddaughter of Eve Garfield. Eve had been a juror that convicted Harry Volk for murder in 1945.
Season One
When Harry went through youth reversal using meteor rock, he was known as Harry Volk and attempted to kill her as retribution for what her grandmother had done to him. Cassandra Carver showed Clark Kent that she was in trouble, which made it possible for him to save her.
Before Harry attempted to murder her, Zoe began to become attracted to Harry, and she believed that Harry felt the same way.
