Superman went to Tokyo to save the passengers onboard a bullet train.[1]
During the "Crisis" and the Monitor attack on Earth, Tokyo was deconstructed and collected by the Monitors. After the Monitors were defeated by the Justice League, Tokyo was restored.[2]

Tokyo has on occasion served as the home of Martian Manhunter, in the guise of Hino Rei (one of Martian Manhunter's many human identities), a Japanese woman.
The city is also the home of Kimiyo Hoshi, who is the superheroic version of Doctor Light, and a member of the Justice League. In the comics, Hoshi is an astronomer who acquired her metahuman abilities, while studying the unnatural effects of the event known as "Crisis on Infinite Earths".
