In the Comics[]
Teth-Adam is the name of the DC Comics character (originally owned by Fawcett Comics), better known as "Black Adam". The character first appeared in Marvel Family #1 (December, 1945). He had been a champion of the wizard Shazam, in ancient Egypt, but had turned evil. He eventually turned up in the present, where he became an enemy of the Captain Marvel and the Marvel family. While traditionally a villain, later versions of the character have briefly had him be a member of the Justice Society of America. He is also the husband of Isis.
