An Opportunity To Save Oneself[]
- After witnessing the power of the Crystal of Fire, Clark should have used its great power to heal Virgil Swann, as the crystal did with Lex Luthor when his body was still poisoned and healed by the crystal. By doing this, Swann would have still been alive to the present day, and be allowed to use his resources to help Clark out even furthur. It is sad that Clark had failed to do so, even when he had the chance. However, Swann's legacy will live on, through Clark and in many ways yet to be revealed. Patricia[]
I wonder who's Patricia Swann's mother? Bridgett or Genevieve would be most the most likely, but I'd think of it as a better twist if Genevieve Teauge was the mother. A few issues back in Smallville Magazine, there was a story that involved Isobel meeting Zod who was trapped in the Phantom Zone, and he told her about the Crystals. also in the story, it went from present day to the 80's when Genevieve and Virgil had some connection (romantically) but of course some elements of theses stories are non-canon. Just a thought. ~Vezz801~
- How in the world could Isobel meet Zod? Geez! But re: P. Swann, hopefully we'll get some information from the episode. But the Genevieve/Virgil connection is canon (at least a business one). The ongoing online game last year had a whole huge conspiracy storyline that involved them, Robert Queen, (Oliver's dad), and Lionel in a consortium in the 80s that knew about alien life, but I don't know all of the details. - "How in the world could Isobel meet Zod?"
- Why's it so hard to believe? Justice & Doom shows Isobel communicating with a shadowy figure very much like Zod, and Kryptonian lifespans under a Red Sun have never been defined, nor has when Zod went into the timeless Phantom Zone. Kryptonian technology has also shown the ability to manipulate time. A lot of seeming contradictions in the show's timeline might make sense if we assume the Kryptonian portals pass through time as well as space (and real-life physics suggests that's how "wormholes" would work as well). So altogether, "Izod" might actually meet; Talk about a power couple! --Noclevername 03:33, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I get that anything's possible. That's not what I meant. But I won't elaborate here, cos I don't want to show bias against certain characters. Marikology 04:00, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Did he Lie?[]
Okay, there is a bit of a leap on the Swann page. It says that he founded Veritas after THEORIZING that messages can be received from the stars, and that a TRAVELER was coming. This is a bizarre theory. Isn't it more likely that he lied to Clark about the messages he received? I mean, Edward Teague knew about Jor-El and some Kryptonian history, but it is never explained how. Swann somehow got his hand on the Orb, a piece of powerful Kryptonian technology, which Jor-El built. His journal is also full of other transmissions he received besides the one during the first Meteor Shower. All I'm asking is, aren't there some gaping plot holes in his backstory?
