Teleportation Back from the Fortress of Solitude[]
I know you can teleport from the Kawatche Caves to the FoS... but what about coming back?
I can't remember a specific time when Clark transported back to Smallville using a Kryptonian portal... but I never really paid attention to these sorts of details before the wiki, haha.
I remember once when Chloe transported to the FoS and was really cold, Clark took her to a hospital in the Yukon. If he could have teleported back, he probably would have just taken her to the Smallville Medical Center?
Anyway just wondering if anyone can remember a specific instances of a portal teleportation back from the Fortress of Solitutde to the Kawatche Caves. Thanks! --Kanamekun 15:09, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I never noticed before you pointed it out, but I don't think they've ever explicitly said how it works coming back from the Fortress. This is total speculation on my part, but I'm thinking it's the same way both ways. In Solitude they obviously just got back, since Chloe is warming up. She then says he left his key in the altar and gives it back to him, which I inferred to mean that she followed him out and back to the farm to warm up. As far as him taking her to the Yukon, it doesn't look like the "portal entrance" is clearly marked. Both of them seemed to just be standing in a wide expanse of snow after being transported in Commencement. With Chloe dying of hypothermia, maybe it was faster for Clark to just hone in on the nearest civilization than hunt down the exit? Not sure if this is enough info to verifiably add to the page, but that's my take on it. Marikology 00:02, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- From what I've seen, I'm pretty sure Jor-El can teleport people out of the Fortress. As for Arrival, I think Clark just super-sped out of the Fortress to the nearest hospital.
- In other episodes like Hidden, Jor-El just gave Clark a speech about losing someone's life for his, and a bright light suddenly shines on them both. Clark is suddenly back in Smallville, ready to stop the missile. In, Zod it is also assumable that Jor-El sent Martha and Lois back to Smallville.
- Again, a bright light shines on Martha and Lois and they are back in Smallville in their next scene. However, in Fallout, the Fortress is supposedly dead. There is no explanation as to how Clark got out of there, he is just shown in the Fortress in one scene and in the hospital in the next. I'm guessing he super-sped out of there. Anyway, that's my theory, but it's not exactly proof of how people can teleport out of the Fortress. Flash0816 02:04, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- Flash0816 , I think you're right! Jor-El can totally do pretty much whatever he wants (so it seems). So maybe he does take care of the reverse trip (when Clark doesn't just superspeed out of there himself!).
- I'm trying to think of a time that Clark didn't have his powers and Jor-El wasn't around to transport him back home... but I'm coming up dry. Let me know if anything comes to mind!
- ps Wow Flash0816, those were some incredible quotes you pulled on all this... from memory?? From rewatching the episodes? Either way, I'm hugely impressed! --Kanamekun 02:17, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- The Fortress was only around in Seasons 5,6, and 7, and I can't think of a time in those three seasons when Clark lost his powers and went to the Fortress without Jor-El either.
- And thanks for the compliment! I wish I had that good of a memory...but I do have a few episodes downloaded on my computer. I have half of Season 5, most of Season 6 (except for a few really bad episodes which I can't see myself watching more than once), and all of Season 7 (so far). They come in handy if I want to pull a quote, or even write a recap. Flash0816 02:37, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- I just noticed that Clark is almost exclusively seen using his key to get to the Fortress, so can we reasonably conclude that the Fortress is nearly impossible to find without teleporting from the caves? (and vice versa, impossible to find your way back to Smallville.) Otherwise, why would he bother using the key to get there? In the time it takes him to go get the key out of the barn, he could have already sped there! Also, would Chloe have taken a powerless Kara there if there was no way to get back (besides superspeed)? I think that since Clark always uses his key to get there, it can be assumed that it teleports you back to the caves the same way. Marikology 06:00, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yah, there are definitely clues both ways. That's a great point about Chloe risking a lot to take Kara to the Fortress. Chloe would risk anything for Clark... although it'd be kinda messed up if she risked Kara's life too. Still, there's no way to know for sure. The weird thing is that there have been sooo many chances to show the return trip, and they never have! I hope they resolve this one at some point... --Kanamekun 14:01, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
