Title image[]

IMO I think the title photo should have Clark Kent wearing the iconic glasses. Since this episode is based around him adapting The Mild Mannered disguise to his work life at the Daily Planet .

Honestly?[]

Oliver being corrupted by Darkseid? When did this happen? Was it when he beat Desaad because he thought Chloe was dead? Has it been that way for a while? What the $*#&?

Honestly, from the summary we got before the episode aired, I had assumed Chloe was going to corrupted, or maybe even Clark, but Oliver being corrupted was actually a surprise. That is a good thing. It was unpredictable (though that might just be me), and it could prove to be interesting in the next few episodes. And yes, it was most likely when he was beating Desaad--it was a moment of weakness, and Darkseid took advantage of that. If only Clark had been able to stop him from even starting to beat Desaad... 209.89.19.154 19:11, February 20, 2011 (UTC)

Desaad's fate[]

It was stated by Clark that he comitted Desaad to Belle Reve but what if this was all part Desaad's plan? Could it be, that he wanted Clark to send him to Belle Reve because of the potential to gain more bearers of the omega symbol among the metahuman prisoners of the institution? At least, it would be an ingenious idea to enforce Darkseid's army. I couldn't figure out another reason why Desaad should rest in Belle Reve for a while, considering his manipulating powers and telekinesis. And why didn't Clark just banished him to the Phantom Zone?? Dva

Note the dialogue. "...buried Desaad under Belle Reve". I noticed that this was a really weird way to say "Desaad was locked-up in Belle Reve". I can't help but wonder if Clark literally buried him under Belle Reve, ala Doomsday. Of course, I'm probably wrong. You may have a point about the Phantom Zone (though you have to realize that Clark saves that for "last resort"), maybe he didn't want one of Darkseid's minions in the Phantom Zone. After all, which would be worse--metahuman and meteor-freak recruits on Darkseid's side, or superpowered criminals from the Phantom Zone? Ultimately, I think you may have a point about this being an ingenius plan on Desaad's part. 209.89.19.154 19:20, February 20, 2011 (UTC)
Literally burying Desaad alive under Belle Reve would imply that Desaad is effectively immortal (much like Doomsday) since otherwise Clark could be regarded as a murderer and that would be against policy! You are probably right that Desaad could recruit prisoners from the Phantom Zone as well, but I think it's much harder to escape from the Phantom Zone than from Belle Reve! That's why I wondered at Clark's decision not to put Desaad in the Phantom Zone. And why did Clark put Slade there instead (who was indeed taken over by Darkseid but was not even one of Darkseid's three minions)?? Dva 12:58, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

And last but not least...[]

Silenced Godfrey...shutdown Granny's orphanage...buried Desaad under Belle Reeve...Darkseid has no foolowers left, so that means...dun dun duuuuuuuuuuuuuh *spooky*...Darkseid is coming up reeeeeeeeeeeeeally soon... Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet... --Jacobmirror 16:16, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Recap anyone? :)

So what exactly was the point of the glasses scene in Season NINE?[]

...at the end of...Idol, wasn't it? When he told Lois his "secret" was that he was a little nearsighted? Given that Clark never even wore them ONCE after that until this episode, it seemed like a waste.

Hair and Eyes[]

So I just rewatched this episode and I was wondering if it was just me or did it look like Oliver Has blue eye contacts in and Brown hair? If so Pleas Let me know so that I don't go crazy thinking I am seeing things Jjlokee 01:59, April 11, 2011 (UTC)

I'm not too sure about his eye color, but Oliver definitely had dark hair in this episode. It was his "disguise" so he could go out in public. He changed it back at the end of the episode. (You can see his blond hair again in the episode's final scene) --SuperBlahBlah 03:42, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
