Skinwalkers[]

The Skinwalker edit was removed with this comment: " (clean up- remove speculation. no proof that the skinwalkers used magic. it was clearly stated that the "special green stones" gave the tribe their power.)"

Other articles contradict this. The Kawatche article ststes "Skinwalkers are Kawatche Indians who use mysticism and kryptonite to merge with the animal skin that they wear and become that animal."

It is by no means clear that kryptonite is the only factor at work. That's why the original description was worded the way it was, to show the ambiguity.

I'm restoring the original for now, until the matter is settled in canon. Noclevername 22:59, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Ah I haven't seen the Skinwalker episode in a while... but just a note, some of the articles are out of date. I've gotten burned on citing articles in the past; it may be best to go back to the old source episode for the original citation (not saying you didn't do that here!). --Kanamekun 23:22, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
There is absolutely no proof for that. The word "magic" was never said in Skinwalker. --Stressed dessert 00:20, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Santa Claus[]

Is there any particular reason we're citing good ol' Santa as an example of magic? I had always assumed he was a metahuman, and that he had some sort of power of superspeed and/or teleportation. That would fit a bit better with the Santa mythology! He's never really been known as a spellcaster... --Kanamekun 23:17, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Nice idea. Santa is definitely kind of supernatural and he might be a speedster or a teleporter as well. Funny stuff anyway!^^ --Dva 00:02, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! If we're going to put the Skinwalkers in a separate "notes" section for questionable magic, might as well move Ol' Saint Nick there too. Noclevername 03:01, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
But Santa Claus isn't really remotely magical? I guess I think of Magic as spells and spellcasting... Santa doesn't seem to involve either? --Kanamekun 03:52, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Magic isn't really clearly defined. It includes things that might overlap with metahuman powers, since those also don't have any clear mechanism. Since neither exists in the real world, any divisions we make between them in fiction are pretty much arbitrary. --Noclevername 05:01, 11 March 2008 (UTC) Added: The traditional description of Santa is that his powers are magical in nature. It's even in "Twas the night before Christmas." I think. --Noclevername 05:04, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Magic used in episode Icarus?[]

Was it confirmed that the pulse released by the pyramid was magic related? I can't recall that being mentioned? - BatteryB7 16:10, May 26, 2011 (UTC)

Well, it knocked Clark out cold didn't it, so I'm pretty sure it was magic-based. -- ImperiexSeed, 12:21 PM, May 26th 2011

But there is no "official" confirmation in the dialog or example a twitter message from a producer? If so, I think it should be removed. This one sounds like a case of deus ex machina rather then magic to me. - BatteryB7 16:27, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, fair enough. -- ImperiexSeed, 12:35PM, May 26th 2011
