Lex knowing Chloe's secret?[]

Since when does Lex know about Chloe's meteor infection? He was saved by her in the previous episode, but I got the impression that he was not aware of it. Especially since Lionel told him that his recovery was due to the super medicine developed by Queen. --87.169.122.56 14:33, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Continuity errors[]

This episode is full of retcons/continuity errors:

That Veritas symbol just appeared in the window we've been looking at for seven years like we wouldn't notice. Why didn't they just put it in a different window? Down the hall or something?
The Meteor Shower date mess-up? Oct 16, not the 7th.
Absolutely NO Clark/Pete/Chloe scene? One of the first things established in the show was their threesome. And Chloe's line about being Pete's friend before she was Clark's contradicts Clark's recounting of him showing her around the first day she moved there, and it makes no sense. If she knew Pete before she met Clark, why wouldn't Pete show her around?
Last week we saw (post-wedding) Lexana sex, but now Clana is back on?
This week, Jimmy suddenly decides to dump Kara and Chloe entertains the idea of taking him back? Even though next week she loves Clark again?

I think these are most likely due to the fact that this is the writers' first effort for the show. I wonder if they know there's a website where they can look these things up? Marikology 01:32, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Chloe never doesn't love Clark. And she never does love Jimmy, IMO. She was passing the time with him, I don't think it was a serious relationship for her. There's certainly no way she'd end up with him long term (which is why her accepting his proposal and marrying him in the first 10 eps of season 8 is preposterous). Think about it - he's not only insanely jealous and insecure about CLARK, in this ep he actually pouts and guilt trips her when she hugs PETE FREAKIN ROSS! Jimmy is a lunatic. And a terrible boyfriend. He constantly is jealous, guilt tripping her, starting fights, dumping her, seeing other girls - he's an ahole. I think in a well written version of season 8 (and one that isn't a slave to the Superman mythos), Chloe would dump him and try to move her relationship with Clark forward now that there was an opening. But of course the show got new showrunners and started to bend over backwards to conform to the mythos, and we got the crap we got. But I think it's telling that at the end of the real show (season 7's last ep), Chloe yells for Clark after Jimmy's proposal is interrupted by her arrest. Let that stand as an answer to your presumptuous proposal, Mr Olsen.

As for the "before Clark" line, I think it just means that she was best friends with Pete going way back. The thing with Clark is, she was best friends with him in eighth grade and freshman year and all that, but until season four (senior year) she was 90% crush, 10% friends. After that, after she learned his secret, I think they became true best friends (though the crush never disappeared, it became full-on love). Whereas with Pete, obviously she had no crush on him, they were real best friends (at least she thought so) those first three years.

The Veritas symbol made its first appearance in the window in Fracture ([1]), so we can't blame the Hero writers entirely for that. Whoever's idea it was to put the symbol in the window probably thought that the fans were too unaware or stupid to notice any difference, or they just thought that nobody would care as long as the symbol advances the storyline.
No excuse for the meteor shower mess-up. That's just bad continuity.
The writers were busier trying to find ways to promote Stride gum than writing a Clark/Chloe/Pete scene. Notice how much screen time the Stride logo got? If there actually was a Chlarkete scene, it had to get cut out because it would be wasting valuable screen time which could be devoted to promoting Stride.
I have no idea what was up with the post-wedding Lexana sex. Lana made it pretty clear that she didn't love Lex in Promise. Even so, Clark probably ran home to Lana offscreen and said, "Lana, I know you made a mistake by having sex with the guy who killed too many people to count. But we all make mistakes. Which is why I'm willing to forgive you for anything you've ever done, because you will always be perfect in my eyes."
- That was a flashback in Lex's memory...which would've been while Lex and Lana were married or possibly just before - I'm afraid I don't see the problem here. Clark obviously knew they were sexually involved since the whole fake pregnancy thing. Really don't get why so many people are always so eager to make up supposed 'errors' where none exist.
- I think it was most likely an illusion created by Lex, due the high deceptive memory. Also Lana wasn't so passionate with Lex.
Chloe will always love Clark, but after seven years of Clana, it's pretty clear to her that she can't have him. :-( For that reason, I don't blame her for wanting an actual boyfriend. I just wish it wasn't Jimmy. Flash0816 02:42, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

  - I remember reading on the Season 7 page before it began airing that in an interview, they wanted to bring Sam Jones back a few seasons ago but he was too busy. They also said that they wanted a return appearance of Lois' father, General Sam Lane. Either one would be fine with me, but IF they bring back Pete, (a more likely appearance by Pete then Lane) fans everywhere will want to hug Smallville and squeeze it and call it there own. The happy dude from the first few seasons would be a pleasant turn-around for Season 7 and a good episode for Clark. If it is Pete, then we MIGHT have an appearance by Ruin like in the comics and Clark mat think it's Pete. (which its not.) I can't wait!

why in the spoilers does it still say that chloe is questioning her decision not to tell jimmy about her powers?she told him in Gemini.

Sorry, that was a mistake on our part. On Kryptonsite, the spoiler says, "Jimmy thinks this person's power is "cool," which makes Chloe question her decision to be so secretive about her own meteor-based ability."
