The Staff once belonged to Arion, an Atlantean demigod, and ancestor of Zatanna Zatara. After Crisis on Infinite Earths, Arion was made the grandfather of Power Girl, until DC Comics restores her Kryptonian origin in the early 2000s. The Staff of Arion first appeared in Blue Beetle Vol 7 #16 (August, 2007), and came into the possession of Traci 13.
