Continuity[]
This episode takes place sometime during season 2 after Duplicity since Pete knows Clark's secret but no one else. This is most likely after Redux as Terrence Reynolds is mentioned a few times. The novel also mentions that it has been 13 years since the events of the first Smallville Meteor Shower and about a year after the events of the Smallville novel Hauntings.
Allusions[]
- Chloe suggests calling Rebecca Morhaim "Poison Ivy." Poison Ivy is the name of a Batman villain. She is an echo terrorist, whose real name is Pamela Isley. Isley later appeared in the Season Eleven comic book series. The character has appeared in many Batman adaptations. Including the film Batman & Robin (1997), where John Glover's character is responsible for her creation. She was also on the TV series Gotham, where she was portrayed by multiple actresses, including Smallville alumn Peyton List.
