| Lana saves Lois from Trent MacGowen. Trent kills two guards Lex had protecting Chloe. Lois and Clark save Chloe from being killed by Trent, by blasting him with heat until he explodes into liquid metal. It is unknown if this killed Trent, or if the combined heat from Clark's Heat Vision and Lois' stun gun merely robbed his of the ability to solidify his liquid metal body for a short while.

Lex and Lionel save themselves by escaping the custody of Jason Teague. Lionel shoots Jason, claiming he was saving Lex (although Lex had the upper hand at the moment), but Jason survives.
