Rachel Torres is an Air Force Lieutenant and pilot.

Rachel was flying her plane towards Mercy Reef, when a surge of light (caused by Arthur "A.C." Curry's necklace) caused her to crash her plane in the ocean. A.C. saved her life. Rachel was later approached by Agent Brigman, who recruited her to his team, investing the disappearances of thousands of individuals, and their reappearance years later without ever aging a day.
A little later, Agent Brigman secretly looked at a photograph, taken in 1936 at a place called Club Havana. Showing a singer, who looks just like Rachel Torres in the present (indicating that Rachel is herself one of those who disappeared and then reappeared decades later). Agent Brigman asked himself how much Lieutenant Torres remembers.
