Smallville Wiki

Oliver's tailor is a person working for Oliver Queen.

Season Nine[]

Thinking that Clark Kent looked ridiculous in his second Blur suit, Oliver Queen offered to have his tailor make Clark a new suit.

Notes[]

  • The tailor's name, nationality and gender were never established.
  • Given Oliver's offer to have the tailor make Clark a new suit, it is possible that his tailor is the one who makes the Green Arrow suits. This would then make it possible that the tailor was also the creator of the Aquaman suit, the Cyborg suit, and the Impulse suit (whose wearers all donned suits after joining forces with Oliver).
    • While Clark got the first Superman suit from Martha Kent, between that suit and the second Blur suit, Clark donned a third Blur suit. It is unknown if Oliver's tailor was the creator of that Blur suit.

Appearances[]

In the Comics[]

There are several tailors who create costumes for superheroes (and supervillains).

Paul Gambi, who first appeared in The Flash #141 (December, 1963), a Central City-based tailor who designs and make costumes for the city's supervillains. However, Gambi later expanded his business by creating new costumes for the Justice League Europe members Aquaman, Crimson Fox (Vivian d'Aramis), Doctor Light (Kimiyo Hoshi), Elongated Man, The Flash (Wally West), and Power Girl.[1]

Paul has a brother named Peter Gambi, who first appeared in Black Lightning #1 (April, 1977), a Metropolis-based tailor. Peter created the Black Lightning suit for Jefferson Pierce.

Samuel Tweed, who first appeared in Detective Comics #390 (August, 1969), a Gotham City-based tailor. Samuel was the creator of the Batman suits. After doing this for years, with his work never being recognized, he sought revenge against Batman by creating his own costume persona: The Masquerader.

Jake/The Tailor, who first appeared in Harley Quinn #27 (February, 2003), a Gotham City-based tailor. Jake creates suits for the various superheroes and supervillains in Gotham.
