Nabu is an entity residing in the Helmet of Nabu.
Early life[]
Nothing is known about the life of Nabu, or how he came to exist within the Helmet of Nabu. At some point, the helmet somehow came into the possession of Dr. Kent Nelson, who used it to became the superhero Dr. Fate. After Nelson stopped operating as Dr. Fate, Nelson still kept the helmet with him in a bowling bag.
Season Nine[]
When Clark Kent came to the JSA Brownstone, he observed Nelson speaking to the bowling bag and used his X-Ray Vision on it. Nabu could sense this and looked at him. After Carter Hall sent Clark away, Nelson passed on a message from Nabu to Carter, informing him that Clark could help them. Carter did not believe it. In order to stop the second Icicle, Nelson put on the helmet again, while asking Nabu to not whisper too loudly or show him visions of the future. Nelson was killed by Icicle, who claimed the Helmet of Nabu. He used it to fight other superheroes, but was defeated (and suffered side effects from wearing the helmet without being chosen by Nabu). The Helmet of Nabu was taken to the JSA Brownstone, awaiting a new wearer who would become the next Dr. Fate.
Season Ten[]
Desperate to find Oliver Queen, Chloe Sullivan came to the JSA Brownstone and took the Helmet of Nabu. Nabu's voice asked her if she would be willing to sacrifice her sanity to save the Archer, which she was and donned the helmet. Nabu showed her where he was, but also a number of things from the near future.

Nabu as he appears in the comics.
Nabu is a cosmic being and one of the Lords of Order. He first appeared in More Fun Comics #67 (May, 1941). Nabu came to Egypt thousands of years ago, ending up having to put himself into suspended animation to recover from some injuries. Nabu was awakened in the 20th Century by Kent Nelson and his father, archeologist Sven Nelson. After Sven was killed by accident, Nabu transformed the boy Kent Nelson into an adult and taught him magic. Nabu then gave Kent Nelson the Helmet of Nabu, Amulet of Anubis and Cloak of Destiny. Whenever Kent Nelson put on the helmet, Nabu became part of him. This continued with the people who would don the Helmet of Nabu after Kent Nelson.
