The Mxyzptlk family (formerly the Kltpzyxm family) is a mysterious family that once lived in the Piatoryer region of the Balkans.

History[]
The Kltpzyxm family lived, and terrorized, the Piatoryer region for centuries. A story from the region tells that they had the power to control the hand of luck (in reality, they had a metahuman ability of mind control, that was passed down the generations). The exact details are unknown, but the Kltpzyxm family changed their name to "Mxyzptlk" (and fled the area), after a village was mysteriously burned down. In the late 1980s, Mikhail Mxyzptlk was born not far from the Piatoryer region, and displayed the power of his ancestors. However, Mikhail was depowered by Chloe Sullivan.[1] By 2011, Mikhail's uncle had become the prime Minister of Russia.[2]

- The Russian Prime Minister is the uncle of Mikhail, and Prime Minister of Russia.[2] It is unknown if he is also a direct descendent of the Kltpzyxm family, or from a family that married into the Mxyzptlk family.

- It is unknown if Mikhail was the only member of the family tree to still possess their ancestors metahuman ability. If not, it would mean that there could be other Mr. Mxyzptlk or Ms. Mxyzptlk with powers out there.

Mr. Mxyzptlk is the name of a Superman villain first appearing in Superman #30 (October, 1944). He is a reality warping being from the 5th Dimension. Traditionally, "Mxyzptlk" is not the being's true name. It is an name that he takes upon arriving in Superman's dimension, as his real name is unpronounceable. Superman Vol 2 #11 (November, 1987) depicts him choosing the name at random, when he agrees to go back to his own dimension, if Superman can get him to write or say his "name" backwards ("Kltpzyxm"), and figures that the name would make it impossible for Superman to accomplish the task.
