Mrs. Mercer of Louisiana is the adoptive mother of Tess Mercer.

In 1990, Mrs. Mercer and her husband adopted a young girl named Tess. They never informed Tess that she was adopted, leaving Tess to believe that the Mercers were her biological parents.[1]

Twenty years later, Tess learned the truth of her origin.[1]

- The character's name was never established. However, as the last name of Tess (born Lutessa Luthor) is Mercer, her adoptive mother's is presumably the same.
- Mrs. Mercer only appears in photographs in the episode Abandoned. The name of the actual woman in the photographs is unknown.
- While her husband is said to have been abusive towards Tess,[2] it is unknown what kind of relationship Mrs. Mercer had with her daughter.
