She was in a local bar, together with a friend, when Oliver Queen entered the bar and began flashing money around for drinks. She and her friend approached Oliver. However, her husband arrived and demanded to know what was going on, while she insisted that nothing was. When Tess Mercer showed up armed, she and her husband took each other by the hand and left in a hurry.
