In 2004, they were staying with their mother in a hotel in Metropolis. As they were about to get into an elevator, their mother saw Chloe Sullivan and Clark Kent seemingly fooling around inside of it. Uncomfortable with exposing her children to the apparent sexual situation, their mother decided that they would take the stairs instead.
