The Lemaris ornamental pond is a pond located near the Smallville Retirement Center, that is full of Green Kryptonite. An accident involving the Kryptonite in the pond and electricity caused the pond to act as a temporary "fountain of youth" for convicted murderer Harry Volk.

Smallville Ledger article on Harry Volk.

  • A Smallville Ledger tie-in article establishes the name of the pond as "Lemaris ornamental pond"[1] "Lemaris" is a nod to Lori Lemaris, a mermaid and love interest of Clark Kent's from the comics.

Appearances[]

In the Comics[]

In Superboy #145 (March, 1968), a well on the Kent family's property gets tainted with a youth serum. After drinking the well water, Jonathan and Martha Kent (up until then depicted as an elderly couple) becomes 20 years younger. In an attempt to cover it up (which they connect with Clark's secret), the Kents invite other old people to a party, where they all drink lemonade made from the well water and become young again (with Superboy tricking them into believing that it had to do with the effects of a passing comet, rather than the well water).
