- Later Season Eight episode Instinct has Tess Mercer train with a martial arts instructor named Terrence (played by Byron Lawson). It is unknown if the Kickboxing Instructor and Terrence are the same man, portrayed by different actors. A notable difference is that Terrence speaks to Tess in English, while the Kickboxing Instructor speaks to her only in an East Asian language.
