The overview for this character is he partaked in the tradition of passing on the Scientist Council ring with Blue Kryptonite in it down to his son Seyg-El as a rite of passage who himself passed it down to his son Jor-El. The man's symbol was depicated on the Clark's family tree diagram, and also mentions the man's wife. The original ring was destroyed in the planet's destruction and the cloning of the ring was destroyed by Clark breaking the Blue Crystal, so he didn't pass it down to Conner.
