John Lane attended Clark and Lois' wedding. Like the others, he fled right before Darkseid (possessing Oliver Queen) attacked Clark Kent.[1]

- John Lane's name appears on the guest list that Lois Lane holds up. The character is not identified in the church. However, it is possible that he is one men seated on the second row on the bride's side.[1]
- John's last name, combined him being a guest of the bride (Lois Lane) at the wedding, indicates that he is a member of the Lane family. John's exact relation to Lois Lane is never specified. Though, it is possible that he is a cousin of Lois Lane (and Lucy Lane).[1]
- It is unknown if he is the son or nephew of James and Sandra Lane, and/or if he is the brother or cousin of Myrtle and Paul Lane.[1]

The 1997-1998 limited series The Kents, which focuses on the Kent family in the 19th Century, features a John Henry Lane. When asked about him by Clark Kent, Lois identifies him as a distant cousin (whom her great aunt wanted to keep distant).[2]
