Smallville Wiki

Jamie Dupont was a French exhange student at Smallville High School.

Physical appearance[]

Jamie had auburn hair and brown eyes. Chloe Sullivan described him as reminding her of Ashton Kutcher.[1]

Early life[]

Little is known about Jamie's life, including how he acquired his powers. He spent most of his life in St. Paul de Vence, France. Around the year 2000, Jamie's powers began acting up, forcing him to absorb oxygen from others to keep himself alive. He dared not tell anyone of his powers, fearing that he would be locked up in a lab.[1]

Temptation[]

In early 2003, Jamie's mother was hired by Lex Luthor to consult for LexCorp. Jamie went with his mother as an exhange student for the semester, enrolling at Smallville High He attracted the attention of many girls at the school, including Lana Lang and Chloe Sullivan. However, his need to absorb oxygen from others intensified, forcing him to do it to multiple people around Smallville. This put him on the radar of Chloe, Pete Ross, and Clark Kent (the last one Jamie was surprised to find had powers of his own). Out of desperation, Jamie attempted to absorb oxygen from Chloe, but was stopped by Clark, who brought him to the Kawatche Caves. The two fought, while the cave became filled with water. Having gone for too long without a dose of oxygen, he began to combust, while all the water fell on him. The combination of which killed Jamie.[1]

Notes[]

  • Being a Metahuman foreign exhange student at Smallville High, Jamie Dupont carries similarities to Season Four character Mikhail Mxyzptlk.
  • Jamie Dupont was never mentioned on the show. The events of Temptation is set during Season Two, but when Clark Kent meets Bart Allen in the Season Four episode Run, Clark claims to have never met anyone with powers who was not from Smallville/had not gotten their powers from exposure to Green Kryptonite.[2] Though, even limited to the TV show itself, Clark's statement ignores Chrissy Parker (who was not from Smallville, and had her powers long before the 1989 Meteor Shower) in the Season Two episode Redux,[3] and recurring character Ryan James (who got his telepathy as a side effect from a brain tumor).[4] When Clark talks to Chloe Sullivan about Arthur Curry in the Season Five episode Aqua, he references Bart (as his seemingly one encounter with someone who did not get their powers from the meteor rocks), while Chloe (despite having met Mikhail Mxyztalk (and been the one to depower him) in Season Four, and knowing about Chrissy (Chloe being the one to uncover Chrissy's secret and background) in Season Two) is shocked to learn that there are people in the world who did not get their powers from meteor rocks.[5] During the early seasons, a lot of guest characters (especially the ones with powers) tended to be forgotten about by the next episode, including fellow Metahuman foreign exhange student Mikhail Mxyzptlk.
