James was a member of the Students for Lex Luthor group at Central Kansas A&M. Together with fellow member, Doug, he went along group president Samantha Drake's plans. The trio physically attacked Jonathan Kent, Lex Luthor's rival. However, afterwards, James and Doug felt guilty and were going to turn themselves in. Samantha killed them.
