Season Six[]

During the events of Dark Thursday, the population of a village in the Kashmir region observed something falling from the sky (likely an escaped Zoner). The next day, almost the entire village was destroyed.[2]

Lex Luthor set up a covert 33.1 facility in Mumbai, for the purpose of experimenting on India's metahuman population. The facility was presumably destroyed by Green Arrow's team, like the rest.[3][4]

Season Eleven[]

Superman and Impulse raced each other to Mumbai. Not long after, Impulse return to prevent the outbreak of a Speed Storm.[1]

A few months later, Superman went back to India, after learning about an inbound tsunami.[5]

Notes[]

  • The presence of a 33.1 facility in Mumbai is evidence that there are metahumans in India.[3] However, their identities and how many Indian metahumans there are is unknown.
  • Smallville featured several characters of Indian descent (the most notable being superheroine Hawkgirl (Shayera Hall)). It is unknown if they were all born in the United States of America, or if some were born in India and immigrated to the United States at some point in their lives.
  • Actress Sahar Biniaz was born in India.

In the Comics[]

There are a number of characters from India in DC Comics, ranging from supporting characters to superheroes and villains. Some examples are:

During the early years of his adventures, John Zatara had an Indian assistant named Tong. In the 1930s, DC Comics also had a mystic crime fighter chaarcter called "Nadir, Master of Magic".

Superheroines Celsius (Arani Desai) and Freak, who are both members of the Doom Patrol.

Superheroine Aruna (Aruna Shende). And superheroine Solstice (Kiran Singh), a member of the Teen Titans.

Birdmaster, a criminal and enemy of Batman. Another Indian supervillain is Jinx, who is an enemy of the Teen Titans, and has been a member of the Injustice League. A third is Psykosis, a member of Kobra, and an enemy of the Justice League. A fourth is the Wonder Woman villain Princess Yasmini.

Maya (Chandi Gupta), an Indian superheroine who served as a member of the Justice League splinter group, Justice League Europe.

A notable non-human character from India is Tawky Tawny (a talking tiger and friend of Billy Batson/Captain Marvel/Shazam).
