Many centuries ago, a Kryptonian came to Earth and placed the Crystal of Water (along with two other Crystals, there were hidden elsewhere) within a Mayan rain god statue, which was hidden in Honduras.[3]

Sierra de la Botija, Honduras.
After Brainiac (and the Black Ship was seemingly destroyed by Clark Kent, he hid out in Honduras for a while. Lex Luthor (believing Brainiac to be a covert agent for the U.S. Government named Milton Fine) went down to Honduras and talked with him.[1]
When Clark learned about Brainiac's survival, he went down to Sierra de la Botija, Honduras, to find him. By which time Brainiac (and the Black Ship) was gone.[2]
Season Seven[]
When Chloe Sullivan searched the world for Brainiac, she discovered that he had recently been back in Honduras.[4]

- It is unknown if the population of Sierra de la Botija belongs to the Mestizos ethnic group (the majority population of Honduras) or the Amerindian minority. While Brainiac is talking to Lex Luthor, he briefly mentions the Mayans[1] (the Chʼortiʼ people (one of the indigenous groups, who fall under the modern collective term Maya peoples) still inhabit the region).
- Shannon and Shauna Baker (who played the two Honduran Girls) are of Indigenous heritage (though, of the Dakelh in Canada, where the Honduras scenes were shot).
