After Whitney Fordman's father took ill, Whitney's mother phoned the Guidance Counselor at Smallville High School and informed her about the situation. The Guidance Counselor approached Whitney and offered her support.

- A Smallville High Guidance Counselor, who is said to have worked there for a decade, appears in Homecoming. However, as the two women are of different ethnicities, they are presumably not the same person. It is possible that the Guidance Counselor from Shimmer left the school (with the one from Homecoming being her replacement), or that the school has multiple Guidance Counselors.
