Dr. Vargas is a physician in Smallville.

In 2001, Dr. Vargas gave Lex Luthor a physical exam. Dr. Vargas was surprised by an unusually high white-cell count in Lex's blood, but he did not suspect leukemia. When Lex claimed to have never been sick since childhood, Dr. Vargas noted that he sees "a lot of this in Smallville".
