Police Officer Dominic Mercer is a member of the Metropolis Police Department.
Season Six[]
After Lex Luthor was trapped underground in an explosion, Officer Mercer acquired Lex's briefcase from the trunk of his car. However, the briefcase was taken from him by Lana Luthor, on the grounds that they had no warrant to search Lex's car.
Season Seven[]
Officer Mercer was among several officers responding to the murder of two park rangers. When Clark Kent showed up, Officer Mercer informed him that the area was a crime scene, and told him to leave.
Season Eight[]
Officer Mercer was among the responders at the Ace of Clubs, after Adrianna was poisoned.
Season Nine[]
After Sylvester Pemberton was murdered, Officer Mercer went to Metropolis General Hospital and collected Pemberton's belongings.

- In Toxic, the character's name tag gives his name as "Mercer". In Absolute Justice, Part 1, the name on the tag appears to be "Dominic".
- In Nemesis and Kara, Mercer wears a uniform similar to the Deputies in Smallville. However, dialogue in Nemesis indicates that he is a Police Officer. Dean Redman's character in those two episodes are presumed to be the same cop (Dominic Mercer) that he portrayed in Seasons Eight and Nine.
