Corto Maltese was among the locations, across the planet, where Lex Luthor set up a 33.1 facility, to do experiments on nearby metahumans. Green Arrow's team attacked and destroyed the Corto Maltese facility. Green Arrow's team also liberated three South American metahumans (one woman and two men) from the facility, where they had been experimented on by Dr. Donovan Jamison.[1][2]
