Christopher James Beppo worked as a columnist for the Smallville Ledger. Beppo was secretly in possession of a book containing the prophecies of Smallville founder Ezra Small.

Beppo is the name of a Kryptonian monkey. The character first appeared in Superboy Vol 1 #76, and was created by Otto Binder and George Papp. Beppo was a test animal, used by Jor-El, who stowed away on Kal-El's rocket. On Earth, Beppo became Beppo the Super-Monkey, and joined the Legion of Super-Pets.
