Notes[]
- Some characters using others as a Kryptonian vessel are portrayed by the actor of the vessel, for example Zod who generally is portrayed by Callum Blue, is portrayed by Michael Rosenbaum in the episodes Vessel and Zod where he uses Lex as a vessel. Further examples are Lois as a vessel for Faora in Bloodline and Chloe as a vessel for Brainiac in Legion.
- There are other ways in which a character may be possessed by another one. In Spell, for example, Madelyn Hibbins and Brianna Withridge are portrayed by Allison Mack and Erica Durance while they take possession of Chloe and Lois. On the other hand, Margaret Isobel Thoreaux is not only portrayed by Kristin Kreuk while she takes possession of Lana, but also in the scenes of her original life in the 17th century. Other examples of characters possessing others are Dawn Stiles in Spirit and Gretchen Winters in Tomb who possess different other characters one after the other and are then portrayed by the actor of the possessed character, respectively.
- Shapeshifters who can assume the shape of another character are also portrayed by the actor of the character into the shape of which they transform. Tina Greer, for example, who generally is portrayed by Lizzy Caplan, is portrayed by Eric Johnson in Visage while she has assumed the shape of Whitney Fordman.
- In Season Four's episode Transference, Clark and Lionel switch bodies, meaning that Clark is portrayed by John Glover and Lionel by Tom Welling.
