In the comics, Central City is located in Missouri, across from the Missouri River and Keystone City. It was founded in the 19th century and is an integral part of the DC Universe. Central City is also known as the city always on the run.Flash Vol 3 #1
Central City is best known as home to the second Flash, Barry Allen and Iris Allen. the City Center is home to the Flash Museum which pays homage to the many incarnations of the Flash. Danville is the middle class residential that Barry Allen lives in. Westminster, also located in Central City, is where S.T.A.R. Labs in currently located. Central City first appeared in Showcase Vol 1 #4 which is where Barry Allen first appeared as the Flash. Central City and Keystone City are 'Twin Cities' which is nicknamed "the Gem Cities". Central City is also home to Gorilla Grodd, Captain Cold, the Weather Wizard, the Mirror Master, and Professor Zoom.
In the 25th Century, the city became known as the Central Cityplex.

- In the comics, Bart Allen is the grandson of Barry Allen. However, Bart Allen does not reside in Central City. Bart has however resided in Keystone City. Jay Garrick and Wally West (other incarnations of the Flash) have also resided in Keystone City
