Bert Kent is the husband of Lorna Kent, and a member of the Kent family.[1]

He and Lorna attended Clark and Lois' wedding. Like the others, they fled right before Darkseid (possessing Oliver Queen) attacked Clark Kent.[1]

- Bert's last name, combined him being a guest of the groom (Clark Kent) at the wedding, indicates that he is a member of the Kent family.
- Bert Kent's name appears on the guest list that Lois Lane holds up. The character is not identified in the church. However, he is presumed to be one half of the couple seen sitting by the window on the second row on the groom's side. There is an elderly couple seated next to Martha Kent on the front row. However, the guest list states that Bert and Lorna will have two children with them to the wedding (being elderly, any children of the couple on the front row would likely be adult guests).[1] It is more likely that the elderly couple are Martha's parents.[2] Bert's exact relation to Clark Kent is never specified.[1] It should be noted that the show never explored the Kent family tree (beyond Clark's adoption). The show's one dive into Martha's family establishes that Martha and Jonathan isolated themselves from family, in order to protect Clark's secret.[2] Jonathan is never specified as having been an only child. In Relic, Jessica Kent (wife of Clark's grandfather, Hiram Kent) is shown to be pregnant in 1961 (with the scene heavily implying that the unborn baby is Jonathan Kent).[3] However, Jonathan's grave in Homecoming lists his birth as "September 1, 1954",[4] which would have made Jonathan 7-years-old in 1961. If Bert is Jonathan's brother (which would make him Clark's uncle), then the inconsistency could be explained away as it having been Bert that Jessica was expecting in 1961.
- It should be noted that Clark was able to pass Lindsay Harrison off as his cousin from California to Lana Lang,[5] and Kara Zor-El as his cousin (via Jonathan) from Minnesota to the population of Smallville (a town that Jonathan Kent spent his whole life in).[6] In Metallo, there is a mention of Clark's cousins in Poughkeepsie[7] indicating that either or both Jonathan and Martha have siblings.
- Bert and Lorna Kent live in Smallville.[1]
- It is unknown if Bert is the father or uncle of Andrea Kent and/or Kelly Kent (apparent cousins of Clark Kent).[1] Though, the latter would require there to have been (at least) a third (possible) son of Hiram Kent.
- It is unknown if Bert Kent was one of the people shown present at Jonathan Kent's funeral in the Season Five episode Reckoning.[8]

The name Bert Kent is similar to Burt Kent, one of Jonathan Kent's three brothers during the Silver Age/Bronze Age, the other two being Kendall Kent and George Kent. Burt had a daughter named Jillian Kent.[9] In Superboy #12 (January, 1951), Clark babysits his cousin Carl. It is unknown if Carl is a paternal or maternal cousin of Clark. The former would then mean that Carl would have to be Burt's son (and Jillian's brother), with neither Kendall (who once attempted to adopt Clark) or George having children.[9][10]
In 1986, John Byrne rebooted Superman. Now Jonathan had one brother named Harry Kent, who passed away before Clark was born.
