Superman Connections[]
- There are many connections between the film The Godfather and the Superman franchise.
- Marlon Brando, who played Colonel Kurtz, also portrayed Jor-El in Superman: The Movie (and the Richard Donner cut of Superman II).
- Laurence Fishburne, who played Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Tyrone "Mr. Clean" Miller, later portrayed Perry White in the DC Extended Universe.
- Francis Ford Coppola, who directed Apocalypse Now, is the uncle of actor Nicolas Cage (born Nicolas Kim Coppola). Cage was cast as Clark Kent/Superman for the unproduced Tim Burton movie Superman Lives. Fun fact: Nicholas Cage named one of his children "Kal-El".
Notes[]
- Apocalypse Now (1979) is an American film about the Vietnam War. It is an adaptation of Joseph Conrad's book Heart of Darkness (1899).
