Alexander "Alex" Luthor, Jr. was the son of Lex Luthor and Lana Luthor (née Lang) in an alternative future.
Season Five[]
On Christmas 2005, Lex Luthor was shot in a robbery. The spirit of Lillian Luthor came to Lex, and showed him a possible future, that would happen if Lex changed his ways. He woke up seven years later, where he was married to Lana Lang, had a son named Alex, and another baby on the way. In the end, Lex chose not to live this life, but continued his journey into darkness.
Season Six[]
In 2006, it looked like Alex (or his sister) might still end up existing, when Lana Lang discovered that she was pregnant with Lex's child. However, the pregnancy was later revealed to have been faked by Lex (as part of a scheme, to make her marry him).
Notes[]
- Alex Luthor only appears in an alternate/possible future in Lexmas. It is unknown what Lex's choices means for Alex's existence. Marvel and DC Comics usually depicts alternate futures/imaginary stories/Elseworlds/What If stories as taking place in other universes in the multiverse.
- Alex's biological grandfather on his mother's side, Henry Small, was portrayed by Patrick Cassidy. Interestingly, Cassidy had a recurring role on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman as Leslie Luckabee, a man who pretended to be Lex Luthor, Jr. (with Leslie Luckabee actually being a henchman of the real Lex Luthor, Jr.).
Appearances[]
In the Comics[]
There have been several incarnation of Lex Luthor, Jr. in DC Comics. The earliest was introduced in Action Comics #544 (June, 1983). This Lex Luthor, Jr. was the son of Lex Luthor and Ardora, an alien woman from the planet Lexor.
Another Lex Luthor, Jr., who went by "Alex Luthor", was introduced in Crisis on Infinite Earths #1 (April, 1985). He was a native of Earth-Three, and the son of a benevolent Lex Luthor and the Lois Lane of that universe.
In the early 1990s, yet another Lex Luthor, Jr. hit the pages of DC Comics. However, this Lex Luthor, Jr. was actually Lex Luthor, Sr. in a clone body. Lex was suffering from cancer, and had faked his own death. He had his brain transplanted into the clone body, which was passed off as Lex's son with LexCorp scientist Dr. Gretchen Kelley.
