Or independent investigative journalists like Tim Pool?
J Jonah Jameson the newspaper publisher who hates Spiderman, they made him a parody of Alex Jones in Spiderman No Way Home.
It's like making J Jonah Jameson a podcaster or news anchor.
Their own blog or The Daily Planet would have it's own website like most newspapers do now.
Print news now isn't what it use to be. Newspapers like The New York Times have expanded to other media like online news and having their own news channel to stay relevant.

The writers were afraid once Lana was no longer the love of Clark's life the show was over, but when they got renewed for more seasons when KK finally left after S7 it took a different direction.
Her constant demanding that he be honest with her and him refusing to tell her his secret should've resulted in her spying on him or hiring somebody to investigate him.
Their on & off romance should've lasted three seasons.
Her attitude towards Clark for refusing to tell her his secret made her come off as hypocritical, cold, and kind of dislikeable when he had parts of himself he had to keep to himself.
Kind of hard to have the will they/won't they? dilemma be effective with Clark and Lana at all when we all know he ends up with Lois, the Superman and Lois love story is like pop culture common sense, which made Lana's stay over welcomed because it's no surprise to anybody she's not the one, so your just watching this toxic romance you know is gonna end badly which takes you out of their relationship.
If Lana stayed in Paris longer. Not hearing one word from him.
Lana stays in Paris but comes back to Smallville some years alter and starts a family while Clark is travelling the world saving lives, moving from town to town. have parts of the opening scene to Crusade tweaked as going the MOS route of adult Clark first meeting with Lois on his travels across America for several years before finding the Fortress in the Arctic with his suit in, learns to fly and returns home to find Lana has moved on with someone else, meanwhile Lois is looking into his rescues over the years with tweaked scenes from Crusade and Gone of Lois visiting, probably have the rogue kryptonians from Arrival for Superman to take on or Apokolips approaching Earth.
A series of constant doomed love interests would've have been better than seven seasons of his first love falling apart, seasons 4-7 were torturous and slow that are unbearable to rewatch. The only reason Lois was in the show in the first place was due to fan service, they thought they got Lex why not do Lois Lane, at times I wished they had better usage of Lois before season 8, she was the only stand character of the show other than Lex, Unless they went the DCEU route of Lois knowing his secret before he's Superman, which they did in season 10. If Clana lasted three seasons, if they weren't constraint to what they could do with Lois until season 8 the show's trajectory could've been.
Sabrina Romanoff said when talking about the idea of you'll meet a soulmate “This expectation paves the way for significant disappointment. Instead, replace the idea of ‘finding’ your soulmate, with ‘creating’ one through years of learning about them, navigating challenges, creating a family, and loving each other through all the happy and hard times,”
In some alternate timeline fan fiction where SV ended at S3, have Lana stay in Paris, Clark travels the world saving people for several years, meets Lois as he did in Crusade but he save her from something instead of finding a brainwashed Kal El find the fortress in the arctic with his suit, learns to fly and returns home, finds Lana has returned home and has started a family. Lois is on his trail looking at all the guardian angel acts he's done over the years, Clark follows her to the Daily Planet and dons the glasses.
The writers were afraid if she knew his secret earlier the show was going to take a turn for the worst.
She's one of those love interests who infuriates me like Rachel Dawes from the Dark Knight trilogy or Kirsten Dunst's MJ from Sam Raimi's Spiderman movies.
In some alternate timeline fiction she comes back to Smallville some years later and starts a family while Clark is traveling the world saving lives, do the MOS route of him finding a kryptonian scout ship in the arctic with his suit on, learns to fly and returns home to find Lana has moved on with someone else, so he goes to Metropolis to be with Lois.
They probably thought once Lana is no longer the love of his life the show was over, which didn't turn out to be the case, seasons 9-10 did just fine without her.
Ignore the Teague family, every Lana storyline after season 3 is too painful for rewatch.
Her staying was probably the only good way to end Clana for good in an organic way not dragging Clana out for seven seasons.

@Grandpa Lo70 SV Lana from s4 to her final episodes in s8 were four and a half seasons of torture and slow build up, many fans wished she stayed in Paris, or done the romantic transition from Lana to Lois earlier as seasons 5-6.
I mean if the show was written differently like if Lana stayed in Paris.
It was a nightmare, but was alright when he did reveal it.
Would it had been worse if he revealed it in his Superman years?
And caused him to mess up their relationship so badly.
Her parents dying in the meteor shower.
